Do they bake rye bread or pumpernickel??
The staff here are always super pleasant and the baked good are out of this world!! Highly recommend the little fudge cakes and cannoli!!
MoreAmazing! Must visit in Durham. A hidden gem!
Authentic pastries, best boulangerie/bakery I have been to in the state! Owner is super friendly and french, and he is lovely to chat too. Store has a very nice Parisian charm. Definitely going back! Très très très bon!
MoreDuring our travels, it's the people we meet that bless our lives. We met Benjamin from France at Luke's church. He owns and operates the French Corner Bakery. He's the first person we have become acquainted with that served in the French Foreign Legion. After being stabbed with a bayonet, his Military career eventually ended. In the bathroom, there's a map with pins of every place he's been. The yellow ones representing where he nearly died. Even with all of his past challenges, he has a great spirit and will tell you a joke or a tale with a sweet smile in his quaint shoppe. A great place to visit for homemade food and fun stories.
MoreThis is my second time here and I brought my fiancee. We ordered 1 of just about every dessert. Was not disappointed. LOVE the chocolate almond croissant and the pain de chocolat. I'd live next to them if I could. The owners are very nice and the chef is phenomenal (and very funny!). They do treat their customers as family. I will definitely come back!
MoreA good variety of fresh and authentic French baked goods at reasonable prices. A truly unique establishment where you can get a little taste of France.
MoreIncredible boulangerie. The quiche, macaron, and croissant are not to be missed.
MoreI love this establishment. The chocolate puffs taste as if they are straight from Paris. The owners are lovely people. I definitely recommend that you stop by and take home several options from their bakery.
MoreThis off the obvious path bakery is a hidden Gem for Durham. You can enjoy the nice inside tables to eat and visit. Take the time to chat with the French baker and owner -- ask questions. Great hot just out of the oven bread or the many treats.
MoreWarning, You will want to come back! A little piece of France in North Durham. Check out this hidden jem! It is literally hidden as you have to drive around a bit to find it in the shopping center. The food is delicious and authentic.
MoreThe food is absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced! The owner and staff are so fun and friendly as well. We bought some jalapeno cheddar bread and the owner gave us the idea to slice it in half to make breakfast sandwiches out of it. It's become a weekly tradition in our house. This is our new favorite place in Durham.
MoreFrench Corner Bakery is possible one of my favorite ever places in this area. I save it for treats, take out-of-town guests there for an experience in deliciousness, and sometimes find myself craving croissants in the middle of the day. Please go try the pan au chocolate or the croissants! Honestly, anything here will be good!
MoreLove all of their fresh pastries
Delightful little place. Very friendly staff. French pastries excellent. Decor very homey and pleasing, especially old sewing machines turned into tables. Great place to stop by for coffee and dessert.
MoreA hidden Durham treasure! Delicious authentic French pastries, croissants and bread. Music on 1st Saturday of the month is lovely and allows conversation to continue.
MoreHighly overrated baked goods with an "all lives matter" owner. Better bakeries ALL OVER Durham.
MorePicked up some croissants for my husband's birthday, and they were hands down the best croissants I have ever had. The place itself is adorable--I love the eclectic assortment of tables and chairs, and my three-year-old made a beeline for the toy corner (which is SUCH a good idea). Easy to find, parking is easy, selection is great.
MoreLet me start by saying I love FCB and its people! Always so friendly and the treats are well-made. This review comes from a very loving place- NO MASKS IN SIGHT AT THE FRENCH CORNER BAKERY TODAY. Not on the woman who picked my pastries for me, not on our beloved baker who was prepping dough when I was there. I’m now sitting at home trying to decide if it’s worth eating the $11 of pastries I bought when it’s entirely possible they’ve been contaminated. As someone who is also trying to responsibly navigate operating a small business during a pandemic, I was disappointed in what I witnessed today. FCB, I love you all, but based on what I saw today, I don’t feel safe coming back until the pandemic is over. And, if you’re someone who’s at risk or immuno-compromised, I WOULD DEFINITELY WARN AGAINST COMING HERE.
MoreJust shared an almond croissant with my husband. After his first bite he said he was sure I wouldn't like it...yeah, right!!! It was delicious!
MoreFirst time here staff was so helpful, as soon as you open the door you are hit with the fresh aroma of the most amazing pastries. This is the second best place I have ever gone first being in Paris. There isn’t a bakery in town that can come close to what I tasted here. Even their coffee was good. Thank you for great conversation and such wonderful food!!!
MoreAbsolutely love everything at The French Corner, chef is from Paris and you can tell by all of his sweet treats, takes me back to Paris....
MoreWe love The French Corner Bakery! Best croissants in Durham, and the staff are very friendly, always patient with my daughter when she takes her time picking out a treat. We also recently ordered a cake for my sons birthday and it was delicious.
